Is your camera no longer responding, unable to log in, or is the connection to the app not working properly? If so, you may need to reset an Eufy camera. A reset returns the camera to its factory settings so you can reinstall it in the Eufy Security app.
Many problems with smart cameras arise from network problems, a forgotten password or an error in settings. Fortunately, resetting an Eufy camera is usually quite easy. In this guide, we explain step by step how to reset an Eufy camera, why a camera sometimes doesn't respond and what about the default password.

Why would you reset an Eufy camera?
There are several situations in which a reset can be useful.
The most common reasons are:
the camera no longer responds in the app
the camera no longer connects to wifi
you bought the camera second hand
the installation failed
you want to reconfigure the camera
Resetting the camera will erase all settings. Then you can re-add the device to the Eufy Security app.
How do you reset an Eufy camera?
Most Eufy cameras have a physical reset button. This button is usually located on the back, bottom or near the camera's charging port.
Step 1: Make sure the camera is on
Make sure the camera has power. Depending on the model, this may be through:
an internal battery
a USB power supply
a charging cable
Step 2: Find the reset button
The reset button is often located:
near the SYNC button
under a small rubber cover
next to the charging port
Sometimes it also says "RESET" or "SYNC" near the button.
Step 3: Press and hold the button
Hold the button for about 10 to 15 seconds until you hear a sound or the status light changes.
Step 4: Wait for the camera to restart
The camera reboots and is reset to factory settings. After that, you can add it again in the Eufy Security app.
Eufy camera reset after reset
After resetting, the camera must be reconnected.
Usually this is done through these steps:
Open the Eufy Security app
Choose add device
Scan the QR code on the camera
Connect the camera to wifi
Complete the installation in the app
Then you can view live camera images and receive notifications again.
Why is my Eufy camera not responding?
When an Eufy camera does not respond, it is often not due to the camera itself but to the connection or settings.
Common causes are:
poor wifi connection
empty battery
an error in the app
firmware problems
wrong network settings
A reset can help resolve these issues and reset the camera correctly.
