The Dahua NVR5-EI2 WizSense is a more powerful series of recorders ready for the future. For example, the NVR5-EI is capable of resolutions up to 32MP and features additional data processing capacity. In addition, this series NVR also features built-in WizSense technology that allows intelligence to be added to cameras that do not have it. But with this, it can also enhance the intelligence from Dahua WizMind and WizSense cameras. Examples include Acupick, intelligent search functions and face recognition support.

- AI Intelligence in the Recorder: The Dahua NVR5-EI2 recorder features a built-in AI chip and WizSense technology. This allows regular cameras to be equipped with detection based on deep learning algorithms, such as AI Perimeter and Smart Motion Detection. The built-in WizSense technology also enables AI cameras to be even more powerful, such as for facial recognition and Quick Pick.
- Support WizSense and WizMind cameras: The Dahua NVR5-EI2 recorder supports the AI-related functions of both WizSense and WizMind cameras. This includes AI Perimeter, SMD, Video Metadata, ANPR and Face Detection
, among others. - HDMI and VGA separately classifiable: The HDMI and VGA outputs on the Dahua NVR5-EI recorder are separately classifiable.
- Support ANPR cameras: The Dahua NVR5-EI recorder supports ANPR cameras with a central database in the recorder for access or denial. Supports up to 4 ANPR cameras
- Face recognition database : The NVR has its own face recognition database. This only works with cameras that support AI face detection / face capture.
- Extra decoding capacity: The powerful hardware of the Dahua NVR5-EI recorder provides extra decoding capacity, making it possible to view more images in higher resolutions simultaneously. For example, in most models, a resolution of up to 32MP is achievable or displaying 32x 1080p on the local display. Do read the datasheet carefully first for exact details.
- Fish-eye dewarp support: The Dahua NVR5-EI recorder supports Fish-eye dewarp for better image viewing of 360-degree cameras.
Points of interest:
- Lower data processing speed when using AI functions from within the NVR: The Dahua NVR5-EI recorder has an inbound and outbound bandwidth of 384 Mbps, but when using AI functions from within the NVR itself it goes down to 200 Mbps.
- Back-end WizSense technology from NVR not suitable for thermal cameras: The algorithms in the Dahua NVR5-EI recorder are based on the image of normal cameras. With thermal cameras, this normally does not give an optimal effect as a result.
- AcuPick: AcuPick is only available locally on the Dahua NVR5-EI recorder and not yet via the web browser, DSS or DMSS.
Advisory:
With the Dahua NVR5-EI2 recorder, it is possible to equip regular cameras with AI detection functions. However, proper operation of these forms of detection does depend on the quality and positioning of the cameras to which it is applied. When using AI-related functions, it is important to read the specifications carefully. Many AI functions are supported by the Dahua NVR5-EI recorder, but not all of them can simply be applied simultaneously. Most efficient is to use as many possible intelligence from the camera so that as much AI capacity as possible is left in the NVR for additional applications.
